Assurance in Uncertainty

“Blessed Assurance, Jesus is mine.” Assurance: A positive declaration intended to give confidence; a promise. These words have been echoing in my heart and spirit as of late. Today as I look around the world at what is happening, there is so much uncertainty and fear; easily given into if let. Jesus is our assurance, the promise of all promises. Everyday when we awake we have a choice to make, do we walk in faith, or fear? Do we walk in the assurance that God is in control, or do we walk in uncertainty with all that’s happening in our world? 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 TPT says, “So no wonder we don’t give up. For even though our other person gradually wears out, our inner being is renewed every single day. We view our slight, short - lived troubles in the light of eternity. We see our difficulties as the substance that produces for us an eternal, weighty glory far beyond all comparison, because we don’t focus our attention on what is see but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but the unseen realm is eternal.” I had to sit and read this a few times, really let it soak in. I found so much encouragement in this scripture, I don’t want to focus my attention on the fear that is inevitably trying to surround me and all of us. Is what’s happening important? Absolutely. But faith trumps fear. Faith is foundational! In Hebrews 11 we read all about what faith did, it inspired, enabled strength, stirred hearts, made a way, shut the mouths of lions, sparked courage, and brought forth prophetic destinies of many. I’m so thankful to serve a God who is fully in control. Though it may not seem that He is near, He is undoubtedly so. I’ve found peace amidst the chaos, joy in the simplest of things, assurance in my Father. Everything has quieted around me, and I can hear Him, speaking over me, reminding me of His promises. “Perfect submission, all is at rest. I in my Savior am happy and blessed. Watching and waiting, looking above. Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.” Now is the time to press into Him deeper, to take time to listen to what He is saying, to soak in His presence. May my life forever sing, “This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long. This is my story, this is my song. Praising my Savior all the day long” Rest in assurance today friends, the Lord is in control. May your faith rise above the mountain in front of you, cast all your cares upon Him. Blessed assurance. Jesus is mine.
